I was on a trip to London where I met George and Lauren thanks to the Stereofox team, I went to their gig and was absolutely impressed by their performance. Me and George had a studio session on the next day and that’s when the idea for “Wisp” was born. Later on we thought that it’d be amazing if Lauren joined as well and it’s probably my favourite collaboration so far. Both George and Lauren are super talented and the whole recording and collaborative process was very smooth. I feel honoured to be working with them.
The inspiration behind the track is “coming home to myself” after a rough period of time and the peaceful feeling it evokes.
Leena
THE RELEASE
Singer Leena returns to Stereofox after a short hiatus, this time in the company of two of London’s most exciting emerging talents.
Singer Lauren-Paige & producer little george (who released their Woman EP in 2023 on Stereofox) joined forces with Leena for “Wisp” – a soft & warm neo-soul tune about letting go of toxicity & becoming your better self. A celebration of resilience.
The two vocals intertwine beautifully, floating on top of a gentle groove & prominent basslines that feel like a heartbeat, guiding you throughout this 4-minute bliss.
George adds, “Watching the song evolve from the original loop idea I had to the full song was great. We performed an earlier version of the track at Kicks in Sofia during our visit there. Love the journey that this song has taken us on.”
Leena has previously seen support on COLORS, R&B Nation, and Soho Radio, and Lauren & George were featured on BBC Introducing & Spotify’s Jazz UK.
