Our networks were disrupted and we were unable to look after each other properly. Unison felt like a record that could help unite people. I wanted to create a work that suggested unity, equality, love, and euphoria. Fitting tonics for a global landscape that needs to become whole once again”

THE RELEASE
UK-based producer Jake Brown is well known for his calm and comforting instrumentals under the name Handbook, although a revitalizing new story has begun with the inception of Verdance – a project that is meant to engulf the listener’s senses with its nature-inspired ambiance.
His first release Rothko came out via Stereofox in 2020, which featured fluttering synths, dance grooves, and a tapestry of found sounds and vinyl warmth woven throughout his arrangements. The eponymous single featured the wonderful vocals of Oli Hannaford. 2021 saw the release of Plunge via Aviary Bridge, featuring more tranquil, synth-laden bliss and warped, grainy samples. Verdance is also becoming known for his remixes, with notable reimaginings for Mozambique and Mazoulew who are also part of the Sterefoxox family.
With this new EP, the producer is expanding on his sound and takes a strong stand in the midst of the world’s division. Unision is Jake’s personal message to everyone out there feeling lost, alone, or unheard. The 6 tracks explore various motifs with one end goal – to spread unity and hope.
It features talented London-based singer and producer Sooski whose vocal will absolutely enchant listeners.
