One of South Africa’s rising names in electronic music, Skai Lounge makes his Stereofox Records debut with “As The Moon Blooms / Everything Fades” – two fiery singles showcasing his dreamy, alternative take on electronica and Afro house.
Drawing from his African heritage and a fascination with Afrofuturist ideas, Skai Lounge creates an otherworldly sonic experience where organic textures, electronic experimentation, and hypnotic grooves meet. His growing catalogue includes remixes for Yellowhouse, alongside releases on major Afro House label MoBlack and Dutch label Sommersville.
As a DJ, Skai Lounge has shared stages with artists like RY X, Chris Luno, and Francis Mercier, and toured across Europe, while also contributing to Cape Town’s local electronic scene through his conceptual event series Hidden Paradise. What started as secret raves in unexpected and exotic locations, has now turned into an event bringing together music, self-expression, and community.
“Everything Fades” explores themes of impermanence and the inevitability of change. Skai Lounge reworks vocals from Canadian artist MKSTN’s track “When It’s Over”, originally released on his latest album, giving them a fresh sonic context while preserving their emotional weight.
Meanwhile, “As The Moon Blooms” leans into a more hypnotic, texturally dense side of his sound. Organic elements weave through layered textures and a locked-in groove, finding a sweet spot between airy and hard. Together, the two singles capture the breadth of Skai Lounge’s evolving sound – balancing organic and electronic elements with a production style that feels both atmospheric and infectiously energetic.
