I’ve been doing lots of self reflection lately and connecting dots, finding out that the smallest most insignificant things were in fact not as little as I thought. Everything is so connected it’s crazy. People, paths, thoughts, situations. That made me feel numb at times, wondering what my life would’ve been if I hadn’t done this or that.

THE RELEASE
Producer Gena & singer Y A N A are back with a new tune, this time in the company of Berlin-based bass player NRAW.
“Chain Reaction” follows the uplifting r&b tune “Back Seat” from March 2025 but takes a more mellow/smooth take – much like most of the tunes of Y A N A & Gena’s 2023 album Under My Skin.
The new single is about the interconnection of things and how the little things can make a huge difference. The honey vocals, swinging between soulful singing and rapping, are floating on top of woozy guitars & synths, slow drum groove & an amazing flute solo in the 2nd half.
Y A N A has collaborated with the legendary Japanese duo Snowk and earned support on Soho Radio London, Ones To Watch. Gena was part of Stereofox’s Bulgarian Beat Wave compilations, featured on CLASH Magazine, KCRW & more. NRAW (Viktor Velinov) is an important part of Berlin’s thriving soul/funk scene & the driving force behind the Family Dinner concerts.

She’s also opened live for JMSN & has worked with the legendary Japanese electronic/r&b duo Snowk.
