For my first solo project on Stereofox, I wanted to capture the feeling of moving through different sceneries in Tokyo. Each track is a reflection of those shifting moments, turning the city into sound.

We’re excited to welcome back Japanese producer Sachiho with a new solo project on Stereofox – the 4-track Dawn Breaks EP, following his previous collabs with keyboardist Kanzas-City. Known for his warm blend of jazzy melodies and soulful boom bap grooves, Sachiho crafts another atmospheric journey through the urban landscape.
Inspired by the scenic drives across Tokyo – from the towering skyscrapers to the quiet waterfront, the EP paints different pictures throughout the day, translating them into soothing jazzhop textures and crisp boom bap rhythms. Each track feels like a snapshot of a fleeting moment, turning the city’s shifting moods into sound.
The release opens with the warm & groovy “Dawn Breaks,” echoing the glow of a rising sun over the metropolis. The jazzy & guitar-driven boom-bap gem “Overcast” (the 1st upfront single) captures the beauty of a sky draped in colored clouds, while the 2nd single “Joyride” (similar to Sachiho & Kanzas-City’s acclaimed “Dancing with the Moon”) offers a calm & soft escape, like drifting on aimless drives under fading horizons. Closing with “Velvet Night,” the EP dissolves into a gentle, star-lit atmosphere.
Balancing soulful boom bap and laid-back jazzhop melodies, with both groovy & soothing tunes, Dawn Breaks is a perfect companion for slow mornings, late-night walks, or getting lost in thought as the city moves around you.
