Many of the songs on this EP are inspired by the months of March and April in Japan. During this period in Japan, the winter season is over, the trees are gradually shining, and the cherry blossoms are turning the towns pale pink. I want people to listen to the songs while imagining such a landscape.

THE RELEASE
Mar 26 - Sasanqua
Apr 23 - Brilliance EP
The established jazz pianist & composer Hiroaki Watanabe, more widely known as re:plus, returns with the 3rd EP of physis – the alter ego he launched in 2024 to explore the intersection of jazz & lofi/chillhop.
Brilliance EP again consists of 5 songs (just like the previous Life & flow with the tide) and explores the themes of creativity, freedom & expression. It is also inspired by the Blossom season in Japan.
After his 2nd project, the gentler flow with the tide EP, Brilliance returns to the more raw aesthetic of boom-bap/chillhop production. The songs are both uplifting & slow, and carry jazzy keys, warm brass & dusty drums. There are 2 upfront singles – Sunlight & Sasanqua (a Japanese camellia flower).
