French-Canadian multi-instrumentalist and producer Ghostnaut presents The Crossing – an introspective, soulful jazzhop EP that captures the emotions of leaving one chapter behind and embracing a new beginning.
A producer, sound artist, audio engineer, and accomplished multi-instrumentalist, Ghostnaut has cultivated a distinct sound shaped by soul, funk, jazz, and lo-fi hip-hop. Characterised by mellow keys, groove-driven drums, and richly layered textures, his music balances innovation with heartfelt expression and consciousness.
Blending jazz-infused melodies, hip-hop grooves, soulful harmonies, and subtle bossa nova influences with the laid-back spirit of lo-fi beats, The Crossing unfolds as a carefully sequenced listening experience mirroring Ghostnaut’s emotional journey of leaving his homeland, Canada, and welcoming new possibilities in Portugal.
The project also features collaborations with close friend, producer, and multi-instrumentalist Lunath, alongside special guests Fred Paci on trumpet and producer Softy. Their contributions add distinct musical depth, warmth, and a sense of dialogue that further bring Ghostnaut’s story to life.
The first single, “Tudo Bem”, emerges as one of the EP’s most uplifting moments, pairing a gentle bossa nova groove with breezy acoustic guitar melodies and expressive trumpet lines. Meanwhile, on the second single, “En Route”, Ghostnaut pairs reflective harmonies with Fred Paci’s evocative trumpet work to capture the feeling of movement, transition, and anticipation that lies at the heart of The Crossing.

Ghostnaut is a Canadian multi-instrumentalist & producer. Beginning as a pianist with jazz education, he also learned drums along the way, and you will recognize his style with his mellow keys adding a neo-soul flavor to his productions. His style can be defined as instrumental or modern conscious music with a blend of soul, funk, and jazz. Aside from his solo career, he spent time in New Zealand working with the band Raw Collective as a keyboard player.
