Ten years after their acclaimed Over & Over EP, which earned spins on BBC Radio 1Xtra and features on Soulection, the absolute dream team El Train and Miki Rose return with a highly anticipated follow-up. The new EP continues their signature fusion of soulful vocals and forward-thinking production, blending the emotive textures of R&B with experimental electronic soundscapes that have become their hallmark.

Leading the charge is the first single, “Twin Flame”, a lush, futuristic R&B slow-dance track that captures the warmth and intimacy of their songwriting while pushing into new sonic territory. The single showcases Miki Rose’s ethereal vocals layered over El Train’s inventive production, creating a sound that is simultaneously nostalgic and forward-looking. Fans of their previous work will recognize the duo’s talent for crafting immersive atmospheres and emotionally resonant melodies, now expanded with a decade of growth and experimentation. El Train elaborates, “Twin Flame actually started as a remix I put together just for SoundCloud, but I loved the instrumental so much I sent it over to Miki. She jumped in the studio with her friend Ramera and together they wrote what I honestly think is her best song yet. To finish things off, I called in my long-time collaborator goodie bags, who sprinkled in those trademark horns. For me, it’s the perfect end-of-summer track – best enjoyed with a cocktail in hand as the sun sets.“

Over the past ten years, the pair have continued to create across continents – trading beats and vocal ideas online, jumping on flights to work in person, and building a partnership that has grown from collaborators into close friends. Their creative dynamic thrives on contrast – Miki’s unfiltered enthusiasm for every idea set against El Train’s relentless instinct to refine until the music feels just right.

With the ten-year milestone approaching, the two reunited to craft a new body of work. Sifting through years of demos and writing fresh material, they selected a set of tracks that not only nod to the spirit of their original EP but also reflect the evolution of their sound and bond.
