“Burning Bridges was produced around the same time as my track No Regrets so there’s this common thread there around letting go & moving forward, even if that means cutting off those around you who are holding you back. It has a slightly more eclectic, raw feel than some of my other music, alluding to the introspective theme of the track. Sonically, Burning Bridges still includes a lot of the nostalgic, feel-good melodic house sounds I’m known for, but what particularly makes this track unique is that it serves as my first attempt at incorporating violin samples inspired by my background as a classical violinist and which I hope to do much more of in the years ahead”

THE RELEASE
San Mateo Drive’s latest release “Burning Bridges” is a feel-good melodic house gem that acquaints listeners with a deep sense of hope.
As a classically trained violinist, San Mateo brings musicality and a nostalgic factor with his emotionally rich brand of melodic house. This has led to support from the likes of Nora En Pure, Sultan + Shepard, and Jerro on each of their respective SiriusXM Chill radio shows.
“Burning Bridges” serves as a continuation of his impressive release streak this year as he showcases his various inspirations throughout the track. The ascending feelings of euphoria that we’re welcomed to throughout the progression allow us to immerse ourselves in the experience and forget everything. Furthermore, his background as a violinist shines through as violin samples are elegantly embellished over glossy leads and lush atmospheres. This beautifully produced gem serves as San Mateo Drive’s debut release with the Stereofox label.
