UK electronic producer Blackadder returns to Stereofox Records with Mosaic EP – a bold new chapter in his artistic evolution that sees him embracing a more exploratory and instinctive approach to production.

Following a series of successful singles that earned airplay on BBC Radio 1 and BBC Radio 6, support from Deezer editorial playlists, and nearly 1M streams across platforms, Blackadder takes the next step towards his first cohesive body of work.

Across the four tracks, Blackadder gives himself the freedom to explore a more adventurous side of his artistry. “Let Go” scratches a long-standing breakbeat itch, while “Bluefields” takes a more atmospheric turn, and “Lovesick” leans into something more playful, soulful and groove-driven.

Despite their differences, the tracks are connected by Blackadder’s instinctive approach to sampling – taking records from completely different musical genres and recontextualising them into something fresh. The shakuhachi heard on “Bluefields”, for example, comes from a Japanese neoclassical record, while the vocal sample on “Lovesick” originates from a ’70s Delfonics record.

Rather than constructing everything too deliberately, Blackadder allows the samples to guide his instincts and shape the direction of each track, following an idea wherever it takes him. That feeling of discovery often leads to unexpected results and has become a huge part of what inspires him.
