“I came across the concept of Anahata a couple of months ago – it’s the fourth Shakra, and Sanskrit term for balance, calmness and serenity. Something that I think a lot of us are looking to attain.
This EP doesn’t always maintain a calm and serene feeling, but there is certainly a balance. Opening with “Eyes”, which swells gently into a reflective and steady piece which definitely oozes serenity, into more expressive and colourful tracks such as “Holi”, and closing with the sprawling and elegant “My Closest Friend”, Anahata is a soothing project that encompasses a range of moods and emotions. The tracks all sample from music based in, or inspired by, the Indian Subcontinent, delivering melodies and arrangements that don’t come around that often.“
