Woven
Woven is an Irish music producer, currently based in Lisbon, Portugal. Formerly producing under the name Murtagh, they achieved notable success, particularly with a progressive house track that helped amass over 30 million streams across all platforms. Woven has released music on renowned labels like Sony, Monstercat, Protocol, Armada, Mau5trap, and Colorize/Enhanced, with support from major artists such as Above & Beyond, Tritonal, Armin van Buuren, and Porter Robinson.
Initially, Woven explored various genres under the Murtagh alias, but gradually honed in on a more progressive and ambient sound. They draw inspiration from artists like Jon Hopkins, Floating Points, Olafur Arnalds, Kiasmos, Nils Frahm, and Tim Hecker.
With the launch of their new project, Woven, aims to create a distinct musical universe, focusing on a progressive style enriched with acoustic and organic elements, along with ambient influences. The project kicked off with a remix of Tony Anderson’s “Tenderness” and continued with an ambient EP on When We Dip’s XYZ label. They also released the well-received Brushes EP with Monstercat Silk, marking a successful shift toward a more focused musical identity.
