German producer and bassist FLKS (Rene Flächsenhaar) brings two decades of experience as a freelance musician into his soulful, beat-driven productions. Blending lush vintage textures with soulful guitar lines, chilled chords, laid-back bass grooves, and subtly off-grid rhythms, his music draws heavily from hip-hop and R&B while retaining the warmth and spontaneity of live instrumentation.
As a sideman, Flächsenhaar has spent the past 20 years touring and performing with major German electronic, hip-hop, and pop artists including Nena, Westbam, Marteria, and Xatar, taking him across Europe, North America, West Africa, and Asia. Alongside his live work, he has produced and co-produced for artists such as Shuko, Lee Fields, Ay Wing, Toké, Shelly Quest, and Mark Battles.
FLKS’ own productions have found support across editorial playlists on Spotify, including Jazz Vibes, lofi beats, Jazz Beats, and Sunny Beats, as well as Apple’s BEATstrumentals and Lo-Fi Jazz.
