Ben Laxton is a UK-born musician now based in Strasbourg, France, where he has been cultivating his unique sound since 2019.
With a rich musical foundation that began as a chorister in the Oxford Cathedral Choir, Ben’s journey into music production took flight in 2022. Drawing inspiration from a diverse range of styles, Ben’s work is heavily influenced by artists like Bonobo, Jordan Rakei, and Alfa Mist. Ben places a strong emphasis on lyrics, crafting songs that resonate with depth and meaning. His approach to instrumentation is both experimental and deliberate, reflecting his passion for exploring different textures and sounds.
Whether it’s the warm tones of a live band or the pulsating beats of an electronic set, his music often features a present, sometimes intense, drum part that adds a compelling dynamic to his chill aesthetic. Looking ahead, Ben is eager to bring more of his music to the stage, aiming to create immersive live experiences that showcase his evolving sound.
