AK420 is a German beatmaker and multi-instrumentalist known for his signature blend of boom-bap, lofi beats & jazz. Deeply inspired by the golden era of 90s hip-hop, his sound fuses laid-back jazz harmonies, soulful melodies, and hard-hitting drums – creating smooth & atmospheric beats, perfect for chilling.

The AK420 project was born on April 20, 2014, while he was still the drummer of the successful death metal band Stillbirth. Driven by a lifelong passion for classic hip-hop, he decided to channel his energy into crafting his own sound. After a trip to Lisbon, his debut EP Rua Augusta was released – a mellow, groove-heavy beat tape that laid the foundation for his unique stoner beat aesthetic. Since then, AK420 has been consistently releasing new music – both solo & collabs.
