Both our EPs – Tokyo & Moyu, were created very naturally and with inspiration from the life that surrounds us – beautiful people, places & situations. This is why we wanted to bring them together, with 2 new songs, and call the album Scene.
Toshiki Soejima & Nahokimama
THE RELEASE
Japanese neo-soul guitar phenomenon Toshiki Soejima & multi-instrumentalist and his wife, Nahokimama, are back to Stereofox for their debut joint album Scene – available on vinyl, CD, and digitally.
The 10-piece LP consists of their acclaimed EPs Tokyo (2023) and Moyu (2024), together with 2 new tracks – the bright “Moon” and the soft “Rise and Shine”.
All songs are inspired by everyday life situations and scenes the artists have observed, hence the title of the album. Sonically, you’ll experience their wonderful blend of neo-soul-inspired jazz & beats, both soothing & bright.
Toshiki Soejima wrapped up 2024 with a collaborative EP with UK multi-instrumentalist & producer edbl called Carefree. The 6-track project was featured in numerous editorials across all DSPs, as well as on Soho Radio London.
THE ARTIST
Toshiki Soejima
Toshiki Soejima is a neo-soul guitarist from Japan. Toshiki’s musical journey began when he picked up the guitar for the first time at the age of 14 & later got inspired by the neo-soul aesthetics on Tom Misch’s 2018 Georgraphy album. He founded a music school in 2016 which is now one of the most popular music schools in Japan, with about 450+ students across the country. He also does guitar tutorials & live sessions on his YouTube (240k subs) and manages a guitar tab online shop.

Nahokimama
Nahokimama is a multi-instrumentalist (trumpet, guitar, piano) & vocalist from Tokyo. She’s been playing the trumpet since she was 10.
